Tessa Hendriks works community-based. That is, with what and whomever is on site to discover and create multiple improvised possibilities. She uses the treehouse as a medium to explore space. The treehouse and the way kids build or imagine treehouses became a method of making, thinking and creating together. Her continuous research on how kids build, how they fail, improvise, play and create endlessly, inspires her work. She professionalized play and adhocism as a method, by working with kids on squares and in parks in the city of Amsterdam. A big part of the play with the kids, is to use leftovers and trash of the city and reimagine and recreate.
As an artist teacher or teacher artist she often creates workshop area’s to create a space were senses and hands can work together to construct new possibilities for the antropocene.
